Tile comes in many natural materials

Tile complements any decorating style, and it’s both practical and attractive. Materials, textures, colors, and styles can be mixed and matched on floors and walls to create an eye-catching one of a kind look. Ceramic, porcelain, terracotta, and cork are a few of the available flooring materials. Belmont Carpets offers tile flooring in Anaheim, California. In addition to our showroom, we provide a shop at home service, which you can request with our online form.

Ceramic

Ceramic tile, most of which is a solid color, is made of clay that is fired in a kiln. It’s available in a wide variety of colors, sizes, and shapes as well as finishes and textures. This durable flooring resists heat and damage from daily wear. Glazed ceramic is resistant to moisture. Ceramic floors tend to resist cracking due to structure shifting. To judge how slippery the tile will be in your home, look at the coefficient of friction slip resistance rating. The COF wet rating should be at least 0.6and the dry rating should be at least 0.7.

Porcelain

Porcelain is a type of ceramic that is fired in a kiln at a higher temperature. Also, the clay is denser and more refined. Porcelain tile is the most durable type of tile on the market. It can be manufactured to mimic natural stone or wood grains. It's ideal for bathrooms and laundry rooms since it is virtually impervious to water damage. Tiles can be unglazed or glazed. Porcelain is more costly than ceramic. It's also more brittle, and therefore, more difficult to cut. Installation is best left to the pros.

Additional materials

Terracotta, a type of earthenware, is another good flooring choice. It is made off a red clay-like ceramic and porcelain. Stone tile flooring, such as marble, travertine, and slate, also adds natural beauty to a room.

Luxury vinyl is a less costly alternative to ceramic, stone, and terracotta. A realistic image is 3D printed on the tiles that imitate the three natural materials. Cork is another ideal natural flooring material. It is naturally hypo-allergenic, anti-fungal, and anti-microbial, and it is soft underfoot.
